Atlas Oil Offers Employees Enhanced Benefits

Upgrades tuition reimbursement, gives time off for community service
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Atlas Oil Co. has rolled out enhanced benefits to its employee base which has grown to more than 400 in 2011. At a time when many companies are looking for ways to cut from its workforce--jobs, benefits, bonuses, etc.--Atlas Oil is giving more to its employees, it said: supporting development, diversity and community involvement.

The enhanced benefits include: Enhanced tuition reimbursement--three times the former amount encouraging team members to develop their skills and prepare for the future growth of the company. An extra "floating" holiday to [image-nocss] support diversity and encourage a work environment that values and recognizes the unique needs of our team members. An Atlas Cares Day (paid time off for community service).

"At Atlas, we recognize that our team members are truly our greatest asset," said Sam Simon, CEO of Atlas Oil. "We expect a lot of our people and in return, we want to show them that we are listening to their needs and want to provide a great work culture for them."

The Atlas culture encourages team members to be active in the community and the additional paid time off for volunteering is encouraging more team members to get involved.

"These new benefits came from ideas shared by our team members during our monthly 'Lunch with Sam' events," said Kari Lawry, vice president of human resources. "Our team members are pretty excited about the enhancements. The new benefits are aligned with our core values and clearly support team member development, diversity and commitment to the communities where they live, work and play."

The company was named one of Metropolitan Detroit's "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" in 2010, a "Top Workplace" in 2008 to 2010 by The Detroit Free Press and earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in 2009 and 2010.
