Bosselman to Stay in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Bosselman Cos. has announced plans for the convenience-store and travel-center company to relocate its Grand Island, Neb., corporate headquarters to the former Skagway building in Grand Island.

The relocation will include a total overhaul of the former Skagway property into new office space for the more than 100 administrative and executive headquarters employees.

"Our company was born in Grand Island, so we're very pleased to demonstrate our commitment to the community by being a part of the revitalization of the South Locust corridor," said CEO Charlie Bosselman. "Moving our corporate headquarters to this location is also a fantastic opportunity to be adjacent to our other community partners such as the Nebraska State Fair and Fonner Park/Heartland Events Center."

The company is still finalizing renovation details, but in addition to office space, plans include a mini convenience store, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces, cafeteria, locker rooms, atrium, company history exhibits, a warehouse and more. The renovation will also include environmentally responsible features, as well as an adjacent daycare and a fitness center.

Other current retail spaces attached to the building will remain, including a liquor shop, mattress store and financial services.

"It is thanks to our many customers, business partners and friends throughout the years that we continue to do business into the fourth generation of the Bosselman family, and we are excited to remain right here in Grand Island where it all started back in 1948," Bosselman said. "What better way to carry on the many memories Grand Island residents have of another family-owned business like Skagway than by inhabiting that very building with our own family-owned business and carrying on another Grand Island tradition."

Bosselman, which operates in 24 states, owns 49 Pump & Pantry convenience stores; the Bosselman Travel Center; 44 Boss Shops truck service and repair facilities; one Hampton Inn, one Quality Inn & Suites, one Comfort Inn & Suites, six Motel 6s and three Pump & Pantry Motels; two Grandma Max's and one Max's Highway Diner Restaurants; one Quaker Steak & Lube Restaurant; Sam Bass' Saloon & Steakhouse; food courts including Subway, Little Caesars and Caribou Coffee; and VisionComm storage, vending and Penske truck rental. It also owns the Nebraska Danger indoor professional football team.
