Circle K Launches Fla. Franchise Program

Company touts ability to tailor brand strategy to marketplace
TAMPA, Fla. -- Circle K Stores Inc. is breaking new ground this year by offering franchise opportunities to business owners in Florida. Circle K has more than 450 convenience stores in Florida.

Lisa Geyer, the chain's director of franchise development and operations, said, "Circle K is committed to building long-term value for franchisees by offering one of the most competitive retailing systems in the world."

Circle K's leading position in the Florida marketplace creates a host of efficiencies such as marketing, financing, support and training for franchisees, the [image-nocss] company said. Franchising with Circle K provides c-store operators brand recognition and superior buying power, it added.

Also, the Circle K Franchise Program offers proven business systems, extensive training and effective promotional tools, it said.

"Our stores appeal to the neighborhood shopper filling in last-minute needs, the passerby wanting a hot coffee and a snack or the traveler craving a cold drink and hot dog," Geyer said. "We recognize that regional, national and even international market needs vary, and Circle K has been able to successfully tailor our brand strategy to address the cultural identities in the many marketplaces in which we compete."

In North America, Couche-Tard is the largest independent c-store operator (whether integrated with a petroleum company or not) in terms of number of stores. It currently operates a network of 5,904 c-stores, 4,128 of which include motor fuel dispensing, located in 11 large geographic markets, including eight in the United States covering 43 states and the District of Columbia, and three in Canada covering all 10 provinces. More than 52,000 people are employed throughout Couche-Tard's retail convenience network and service centers. Outside the United States, there are nearly 4,000 Circle K stores in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mexico and Japan.
