CSP, Winsight Win Big at Neal Awards

Design award for ‘Hack-Proof’ among top business media honors

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- Winsight walked away from the 62nd Jesse H. Neal Awards—dubbed “the Pulitzer Prize of business media”—with a bag full of hardware.

CSP magazine and fellow publication Restaurant Business won three Neal Awards, and Restaurant Business was named the second runner-up in the competition for the best-in-show honor, the Grand Neal. Media companies submitted more than 600 entries in this year’s competition.

“It is a huge honor to be recognized as one of the best,” said Grey Montgomery, chief content officer for Winsight. “It’s a testament to our entire staff’s hard work and dedication to their craft at Winsight.”

CSP magazine grabbed the Best Overall Art Direction/Design award, in the $7 million or more revenue bracket, for its February 2015 feature “Hack-Proof,” which creative director Bruce Ramsay produced with art director Nico Heins and assistant art director Mike Miller.

Restaurant Business won the Neal for Best Single Issue with January 2015’s “The Consumer.” The annual installment includes a ranking of restaurant chains by their popularity among consumers, a report based on data from Winsight's food consultancy, Technomic. The issue profiles the consumer and delves into how the dining-out public’s behavior is changing.

The magazine also won a Best Overall Art Direction/Design ($3 million to $7 million in revenue) Neal for its October feature “50 Great Ideas,” an honor for the publication’s design team, art director Sara Stewart and Ramsay.

In addition to the three wins, Winsight publications were also named as finalists in four categories:
