DePinto Joins RILA Board

7-Eleven chief adds c-store industry weight to retail group

WASHINGTON -- Joe DePinto, president and chief executive officer of Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. has joined the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) board of directors. The group added DePinto and Louis D'Ambrosio, president and CEO of Sears Holding Corp. during its semi-annual meeting held this week in Washington.

They join a highly engaged group of chief executives who provide RILA with invaluable strategic leadership and knowledge to help RILA deliver on behalf of the retail industry," said RILA president Sandy [image-nocss] Kennedy. "Their experience and industry know-how will add to what is already a stellar board."

DePinto leads a major company in convenience retailing--7-Eleven is the operator, franchisor and licensor of more than 38,400 stores worldwide, of which some 8,200 stores are in North America. Before being appointed chief executive of 7-Eleven in 2005, DePinto was president of GameStop Corp. He also has held executive positions at PepsiCo Inc. and Thornton Oil Corp.

The RILA board meets twice a year to discuss the issues facing the retail industry and to offer insight into the opportunities and challenges confronting retailers and how RILA can best support their efforts. The RILA Board of Directors is comprised of chief executives from America's largest and most successful retail companies.
