FPMA Hires Executive Director

Will direct day-to-day operations, oversee legislative issues, membership recruitment
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (FPMA) said that after an extensive search, it has hired Ned Bowman as the executive director of the Tallahassee office. He will direct the day-to-day operations in the office as well as overseeing state and national legislative issues, active membership recruitment and other related association responsibilities.

Search committee team leader Stephanie Hinton said, "The committee received 27 applications and after a lot of work, we selected three applicants for the final interview. Ned [image-nocss] is our top choice. We think he is the right fit for our group and we are looking forward to a long and successful relationship with him."

Bowman (pictured) has more than 25 years of experience with the heating and fuel oil industry, including service as president of Village Oil Inc., a fuel oil and petroleum products distributor. He has served on the board of directors of the New England Fuel Oil Institute as a member of its legislative committee and on the board of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Dealers Association. He was the founder and president of Action Energy, a retail propane distributor in Connecticut.Tallahassee, Fla.-based FPMA represents the majority of the Sunshine State's approximately 9,600 gas stations, about 5,300 of which are independently owned or run by small retail chains.
