Handee Marts Selected as Finalist

Named in small-company category for Pittsburgh Business Ethics Award
PITTSBURGH -- Handee Marts Inc., an area licensee of 7-Eleven Inc., was named a finalist in the small-company category for the 8th Annual Pittsburgh Business Ethics Award. Finalists for the Pittsburgh Business Ethics Awards are chosen through nomination and overall reputation and are evaluated on such criteria as demonstration of executive commitment to business ethics, clear communication of ethical standards to employees, consistently high quality of products and services and a commitment to community and charitable involvement.

Past winners of this award include Bayer, [image-nocss] Alcoa, Duquesne Light and PPG Industries.

The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, along with the University of Pittsburgh David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership, annually serves as a sponsor and host for the region's American Business Ethics Awards, recently recognized as the finest regional award for this honor in the country. The center provides the judging for the event, visiting the finalist companies and assembling the final judging committee.

The winner will be announced on February 13 at a luncheon featuring guest speaker Paul H. O'Neill , former CEO of Alcoa and Secretary of the U.S. Treasury.

Based in Gibsonia, Pa., and founded in 1969 by the Turner Family of Turner Dairy, Handee Marts became the second area licensee of 7-Eleven Inc. formerly known as the Southland Corp. Handee Marts operates 63 stores ( 54 franchised and 9 corporate) in its license area including western Pennsylvania, northeastern Ohio and select counties in Maryland and West Virginia.

Dallas-based 7 Eleven operates, franchises or licenses approximately 7,600 7-Eleven stores in North America. Globally, 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses more than 35,000 stores in 17 countries. During 2007, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales of more than $46.6 billion.
