Innovation, Execution Drive Rutter’s

YORK, Pa. --Rutter’s Farm Stores has once again earned the No. 3 rank on the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2016 list of Top 100 Private Companies in Central Pennsylvania.

Every year since 2005, the York, Pa.-based convenience-store retailer has ranked in the top 10 of the 100 Private Companies in Central Pennsylvania.

“We continue to grow our business through new store openings, foodservice innovation and technology enhancements. In the last two months, we opened two new stores, launched a new signature line of Ultimate Chicken sandwiches along with funnel cake fries; combining that with the ability for our VIP customers to go cardless at our stores are a few ways we stay committed to meeting changing demands of our customers,” said Derek Gaskins, Rutter’s chief customer officer.

“Innovation and execution is what drives us,” he said.

With roots dating back to 1747, Rutter’s 269-year history makes it the oldest vertically integrated food company in the United States, it said. Rutter’s is guided by the family’s third generation of leadership with Scott Hartman as president and CEO, Todd Rutter as president of Rutter’s Dairy and Tim Rutter as president of M&G Realty. It has 63 convenience stores in Pennsylvania.
