FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Brian Wright, managing partner of Executive Leadership Solutions, said that Joe Kilraine has joined the company as a senior executive recruiter. The company said he will handle both upstream and downstream recruitment.
Kilraine began his more-than-30-year career in manufacturing/engineering and operations within the chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, oil and gas and related energy industries as a part-time operator in a polyethylene plant at the age of 14. After a brief stint in manufacturing pharmaceuticals, he became the youngest [image-nocss] plant manager of a Fortune 50 corporation when at 23 he first managed the engineering, construction and startup and then ran as a profit center, a DuPont joint-venture polymer facility.
He was recruited away from DuPont by Olin Corp. to operate its urethane operation manufacturing operations and engineering at various positions of responsibility, as well as international operations. He also launched Olin's mergers and acquisitions function and oversaw several quality and safety initiatives.
When a number of Olin's CEO and senior management team were recruited to Occidental Petroleum Kilraine was among, them where he continued his plant and business optimization activities, as well as, new business acquisitions and became the primary troubleshooter, optimizer and key influence in Occidental's chemical, petrochemical and refining operations and organizations.
Kilraine next applied his energy to the entrepreneurial mergers and acquisitions and leverage buyout arena, where he joined a merchant bank partnership doing leveraged rollups' in industries requiring consolidation. As CEO, he assisted his partner in structuring and negotiating the acquisitions (targeted pursuant to cash flow potential) and then assumed the senior position in operating the consolidated entities, most of which were in engineering and construction, energy including alternative fuels and recovery and real estate.
