WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC said that Terry Montgomery has joined the Iowa-based, family-owned convenience retailer as the company's new vice president of business intelligence (BI). In this newly created position, Montgomery's main focuses will be developing the new Kum & Go business intelligence department and the expansion and growth of business intelligence function at Kum & Go.
The department will be responsible for creating a higher level of reporting and business analysis that will lead to more accountable and enhanced customer service.

His extensive knowledge of business operations, analysis and development will help shape not only the business intelligence area, but the entire company's way of doing business," said Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go. Montgomery spent 10 years working in the retail business with Younkers and its parent organization, Saks Inc., in both senior vice president and vice president roles. He most recently spent the past five years working on three major development projects in Iowa. Montgomery served as CFO of the Science Center of Des Moines and played a key role in the building, creation and coordination of its new building. He worked as a consultant for the Blank Park Zoo expansion and also for the Iowa DNR as project administrator with the Honey Creek Resort at Lake Rathbun project.
West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go has more than 430 convenience stores in 12 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming and Wisconsin).
