Kum & Go Celebrates 50th Store Opening in Colorado

Colorado Springs location focuses on fresh food, expanded offerings, sustainable practices

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC celebrating a milestone with the opening of its 50th store in the state of Colorado. The new store, which opened June 21, is located in Colorado Springs.

The nearly 5,000-square-foot store features innovative technology and opportunities for customers to save big this summer, both inside and outside the building. Inside, the expanded Go Fresh Market offers made-to-order pizzas, as well as baked goods, breakfast and deli sandwiches, made fresh daily at Kum & Go's onsite kitchen. Customers will also be able to get deals throughout the store, served up at the newly designed center checkout area. Outside, more fueling stations and a large variety in fuel offerings will give customers more choices and value at the pump.

"We're excited to bring our newest store design to Colorado Springs," said president and CEO Kyle J. Krause. "This store layout has been designed with our customers in mind. From fresh food options to a wide selection in products, all aspects of our stores have been configured to focus on delivering fast, friendly customer service."

While customers save money as they fuel up, Kum & Go stores are also saving energy and water through their strong dedication to sustainable practices. Kum & Go designs and constructs the stores in accordance with rigorous Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)  certification guidelines in mind. Sustainable features of this new Kum & Go store include Solatube skylights, LED lighting (both inside and outside the store), low-flow water efficient fixtures and high energy-efficiency equipment. Each store is built using recyclable materials and locally sourced materials.

The new store also supports Kum & Go's partnership with Community Intersections, which provides recycling opportunities at the pump and creates jobs for adults with disabilities at all 10 Kum & Go stores in Colorado Springs.
