Kum & Go Names New Marketing Director

Elfers joins team from Hy-Vee, Wrigley

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go President and CEO Kyle J. Krause has announced that Megan Elfers has joined the company as its new marketing director.

Elfers has extensive experience in brand management, as well as food and retail marketing. In her role at Kum & Go, Elfers will be responsible for marketing strategy and promotional campaigns for Kum & Go stores.

Elfers joins Kum & Go from Hy-Vee, where she served as a marketing specialist since 2011. Prior to Hy-Vee, she worked as a senior retail marketing manager for Wrigley in Chicago, where she developed and implemented retail marketing initiatives for Wrigley's Doublemint gum and other popular chewing gum brands.

According to Krause, it was Elfers' proven track record of food and retail marketing success, along with her broad-based background in consumer-focused strategic marketing that made her an ideal fit to serve as Kum & Go's new marketing director.

"Kum & Go constantly seeks new ways to reach and engage with customers. Megan Elfers offers significant strategic marketing expertise related to the unique challenges of marketing food and snack products to consumers. She's worked with well-respected brands in the food and retail industry, and her experience will serve Kum & Go well as we continue our rapid growth," said Krause.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go is the fifth largest privately held, company-operated convenience store chain in the United States. The family-owned company began in 1959, in Hampton, Iowa, and has grown to more than 400 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).
