Kum & Go Welcomes Wilkie

Introduces c-store vet as new senior vice president

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go LC, has officially announced the addition of convenience store industry veteran Jack Wilkie as senior vice president of marketing.

As reported in CSP Daily News in mid-June, prior to joining Kum & Go, Wilkie was a member of the executive committee of 7-Eleven Inc., where he served as vice president of franchising and corporate communications.

Wilkie is one more vital link in Kum & Go's ongoing initiative, through measurable performance indicators, [image-nocss] to build Kum & Go's brand through renowned customer service, proprietary product assortment and innovative marketing.

Wilkie plans to build customer count, increase the average transaction and improve margins through his responsibilities in merchandising, marketing, branding, advertising, public relations and in internal communications with Kum & Go's more than 3,500 associates.

Earlier in his career, Wilkie served as vice president of marketing and franchise development for AAMCO, based in Philadelphia. As vice president of marketing for The Franklin Mint, he had P&L responsibility for new product lines and introduced new sales channels. Prior to that, he served as director of public relations for Amway Corp.

Active in the arts, human services and other organizations, Wilkie has served on various boards, including the International Franchise Association; University of Texas at Richardson; Education is Freedom Foundation; Meadows School of Arts at Southern Methodist University; the National Wellness Community; the Philadelphia Wellness Community; and the American Red Cross in Philadelphia.

A Chicago native, Wilkie is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, and received his MPA from Nova University. Wilkie will live in West Des Moines with his wife, Margo, and their two children, Meredith and Jaclynn.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go operates 445 c-stores in 13 states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming and Wisconsin. It provides customers a proprietary mix of products under the Hiland brandgourmet coffee, water, potato chips. Stores also offer Caf a Fresh, with pizza, Angus beef burgers, chicken, deli sandwiches and bakery items.
