MAPCO Adds Veteran Industry Execs

Reilly joins from Sheetz; Miller from Thorntons; Shrewsberry for private label

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- MAPCO Express, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delek US Holdings, has announced several executive appointments. Bill Reilly has been named chief marketing officer. Reilly spent 10 years of his career with Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz Inc. where he served as vice president of sales and marketing.

Prior to that, Reilly served in the hospitality arena where he spent six years with Disney and four years with Marriott in a variety of food and beverage roles. Most recently, Reilly served as owner of F & B Marketing Solutions, a consulting firm. Reilly has [image-nocss] his degree in culinary arts and is a trained chef.

Tony Miller has joined MAPCO Express as vice president of sales and merchandising. Miller comes to MAPCO from Louisville, Ky.-based Thorntons Inc., where, over a nine-year period, he held numerous executive-level positions, including his most recent role as senior vice president pf sales and marketing. Prior to that, Miller held key sales and marketing assignments with the Coca-Cola Co. in Louisville.

Russ Shrewsberry has been hired to fill the newly created position of director of private label. Most recently, Shrewsberry worked in New Jersey with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Inc., where he served as A&P U.S. director. Prior to that, he held the title of director of own-brand customer development. Shrewsberry has a strong background in developing successful private-label programs in multiple channels. He will be focused on developing and driving growth strategies within this key category.

Also, Blake Miller has been hired to fill the newly created position of vice president of human resources for MAPCO Express. Most recently a consultant with The HR Group in Nashville, Tenn. Miller has held various executive-level human resource and operational positions since 1987 including Whirlpool, Merck, Dell and Asurion.

Igal Zamir, president of Brentwood, Tenn.-based MAPCO Express, said, "During the past six months, MAPCO's leadership has developed a series of strategic growth initiatives designed to improve our brand positioning, grow our market share and increase our overall profitability as an organization. Although significant progress has been made in the development of a well-defined long-term strategy, the implementation of this strategy required that we add fresh talent to our ranks, individuals with both the industry experience and the passion to help us to take the business to the next level."

He added, "We believe Bill, Tony, Blake and Russ each bring a unique set of qualifications, skills and experiences which will be instrumental in helping us effectively implement our plan for strategic growth at MAPCO."

MAPCO Express is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delek US Holdings Inc. , which operates a network of nearly 500 retail gasoline and convenience stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Virginia, primarily under the MAPCO Express, MAPCO Mart, East Coast, Discount Food Mart, Fast Food & Fuel and Favorite Market brands. Approximately 93% of the stores are located in Tennessee, Alabama and Virginia.
