Will serve as business development, engineering VP, respectively

AUSTIN, Texas -- PerformanceRetail said that Chas Erickson has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Additionally, Marsha Mathis, previously the director of professional services, has been promoted to vice president of business development.

These appointments will help PerformanceRetail continue to advance the adoption of retail business intelligence solutions in its increasing customer base of high-velocity retailers.

Erickson, a proven engineering leader with more than 20 years of product development experience [image-nocss] in both early-stage and established technology companies, joins PerformanceRetail to lead the company's product development and engineering functions.

Prior to PerformanceRetail, Erickson served as vice president of development for Austin, Texas-based WhisperWire from its early startup phase through the company's successful acquisition by Convergys. Prior to that, he held engineering management and development positions at Trilogy and IBM.

Mathis joined PerformanceRetail in the fall of 2004 as director of professional services, having spent more than 23 years in the convenience retail industry. Prior to joining PerformanceRetail, Mathis was a vice president at Professional Datasolutions Inc. (PDI), a provider of software and services to the convenience and petroleum industries. Her background also includes experience in the point-of-sale, in-store dynamic advertising via satellite broadband, as well as B2B financial settlement and reconciliation markets.

Chas' experience in building product development teams and his proven leadership in delivering world class technology solutions will enable us to take our products to the next level. Marsha's continued success and deep working relationships with convenience store retailers, suppliers and technology companies makes her an ideal fit as we expand our business development activities and launch strategic partnership initiatives, said Marc Hafner, president and CEO of PerformanceRetail. Both individuals will play pivotal roles as we continue to grow our customer base, product offerings, partnerships and leadership position in the high-velocity retail industry.
