McAuliffes Transition at Energy Recruiters

Founder will focus on firm's philanthropic efforts

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Energy Recruiters Inc. (ERI) has announced that effective April 1, 2008, Chris McAuliffe, chairman and founder of ERI, has transitioned out of daily company operations to spend more time on global business development and directing ERI's philanthropic endeavors.

ERI contributes 5% of its annual revenues to children's charities, such as the National Center Missing & Exploited Children, for example, to which it donated $20,000 in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina.

Jason McAuliffe, who has been with the company since 2004, will be assuming the responsibilities [image-nocss] of president and CEO. He was promoted to president in March 2007.

"After being in the industry for over 35 years, I want to take more time to focus on our global opportunities as well as spending more time on our charity efforts and community involvement," Chris McAuliffe said. "I believe that with the vision Jason has for the company and the team he is leading, we will continue our growth and position as [a] leading executive search firm serving the energy and consumer products industries."

Chris McAuliffe founded ERI after 34 years in the petroleum industry. He started as a gasoline attendant working for Tenneco Oil Co. while going to Louisiana State University. During his 22 years with Tenneco, he held positions in operations, finance and marketing before assuming various senior management positions: vice president, executive vice president, and president in various Tenneco companies.

When Tenneco dissolved in 1988, McAuliffe accepted the position of president and CEO of Golden Gallon Inc., a large regional convenience food store chain in the Southeast. He then went on to Kerr-McGee Refining, where he was initially responsible for their branded marketing network of more than 1,400 locations. Several years later, he was given the opportunity to develop a national accounts program while continuing to work with Kerr-McGee's trading department.

Canadian refiner Irving Oil then offered McAuliffe the opportunity to oversee its U.S. operations. There, he was responsible for Irving's convenience food stores, dealer operations, restaurants, travel centers, heating oil and propane network, terminal operations and the administrative functions. Two years later, Irving Oil Ltd. transferred McAuliffe to Dublin, Ireland, to develop a retail marketing network in Europe. After his assignment in Ireland, he returned to the United States and started his own retail and marketing consulting business in Houston.

Bonita Springs, Fla.-based ERI is an executive search and consulting firm specializing in the petroleum and consumer products industries. It provides recruiting services for major oil companies, independent marketers, wholesalers, retailers and pipeline and terminaling companies.
