NACSPAC Holiday Message: 'Washington Is Broke'

Donations aid election, education efforts

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- NACS and NACSPAC, its political action committee, sent the following holiday message from NACSPAC chairman Peter Tedeschi to its members this week:

The Fourth of July is much more than a holiday; it’s a celebration of the things that make our country great. The Fourth also allows us to stop long enough to reflect on the many sacrifices that made the freedoms that we enjoy today possible. I can’t think of another country that I’d rather live in. Trust me; I’ve gone through the exercise a few times over the past five or six years. As great as America is, imagine how much better it could be if ”life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” hadn’t given way to “life, legislation and the pursuit of tax revenues”?

Washington is broke, and working harder than ever to hurt hard-working businesses across our land. They are not doing this because they think that they’re right, they’re doing this because they think that they can. They need to fix Washington, not break the backs of business both large and small. Our legislators can’t campaign as being “job creators,” while also supporting legislation that is a job killer.

NACSPAC fights for our industry by giving us a powerful voice on Capitol Hill. NACSPAC supports incumbents and candidates that are responsive to the concerns of our industry; and works to educate those that aren’t. Job creation is just one of the many benefits that our industry has to offer to our country; but these benefits can only be realized with the passage of legislation that is prudent, not punitive. NACSPAC makes the case for our industry, and your support helps NACSPAC to make a difference.

I want to thank each of our current supporters--whether you give $50 or $5,000, each contribution is very important in our efforts on Capitol Hill. I ask that those of you who aren’t currently supporting NACSPAC to please join today by contributing online or downloading a contribution form and returning it by email to rlittle@nacsonline.com.

Let’s fight for what’s right by supporting NACSPAC and each other. Join NACSPAC today.

I wish each of you and your loved ones a very safe and enjoyable 4th of July!

Cheers,

Peter D. Tedeschi
