New Kum & Go Openings

Opens Idaho Springs, De Beque, Colo., stores, rebuilt Coweta, Okla., store
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC, said that its new store in Idaho Springs, Colo., is now open for business. The 3,400-square-foot store took only 102 days to construct, the company said.

The retailer held a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for the new Kum & Go store on December 4. City and school officials were in attendance and Kum & Go presented Carlson Elementary School with a $2,000 donation for new technology to be used by students and faculty.

Kum & Go offered free Java Ridge coffee and cappuccino from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The [image-nocss] new store features 12 conventional fueling stations, offering unleaded, unleaded plus, premium and diesel fuels. In addition to offering quality gasoline, Kum & Go stores feature a wide selection of food and beverage products, including Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Go Fresh Market Sandwiches and Nuclear Energy Drinks. The West Des Moines, Iowa-based company also offers potato chips, bottled water, cookies and candy under the Hiland brand name in its stores.

"We want Kum & Go to become Idaho Springs's store of choice for coffee or pop in the morning, gas after work and all the stops in between," said Kyle J. Krause, Kum & Go president and CEO.

As part of Kum & Go's commitment to developing environmentally friendly building and operating practices, the new Idaho Springs store integrates heavily insulated glass, LED cooler door lights and energy-efficient coolers into its energy-efficient design.

The company also opened a new store in De Beque, Colo., it said on Facebook. It will hold a grand opening event on December 18 and December, offering free 32-oz. fountain drinks.

And it will hold a grand opening celebration on December 18 for a rebuilt store in Coweta, Okla., with monthly product discounts, it said on Facebook.

The family-owned company began in 1959 in Hampton, Iowa, and has grown to more than 400 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming). It employs more than 3,600 associates. In addition to a wide selection of products, Kum & Go provides customers a proprietary mix of products under the well-known Hiland brand name. Other proprietary product offerings include Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Napa Creek and Sea Ridge wines, Go Fresh Market sandwiches and Nuclear energy drinks.
