Pilot Flying J Expands Diesel Network in Virginia

Will operate stores in connection with Speedway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --Pilot Flying J is expanding its nationwide network to include leasing the diesel islands at six travel center locations in Virginia. The Pilot branded stores will be operated in connection with Speedway LLC.

The diesel network at the travel centers will serve professional drivers traveling throughout the state of Virginia, as well as the local communities where the stores are located.

Most offer diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump, quick-service restaurants (QSRs) such as Dairy Queen, Dunkin' Donuts, Subway or Wendy's and showers for professional drivers.

The travel center locations include:

  • Wytheville, located off Interstates 81 and 77.
  • Toms Brook, located off Interstate 81 at State Route 651.
  • Raphine, located off Interstates 81 and 64.
  • South Boston, located off U.S. Highway 58.
  • Disputanta, located off Interstate 95 at exit 47.
  • Skippers, located off State Route 629 at Moores Ferry Road.

By the end of the year, the company will complete a $50 million project to remodel driver showers, and it recently launched a $50 million project to remodel restrooms at its stores across North America. Pilot Flying J also offers DEF at the pump at more than 4,500 lanes nationwide.

Since the start of 2014, Pilot Flying J has opened 17 stores in the United States.

As with all other Pilot and Flying J locations, these travel center locations will honor the MyRewards loyalty card, through which members can earn in-store retail and restaurant discounts.

The combined network of more than 650 Pilot travel centers and Flying J travel plazas across North America serves more than 1.3 million customers daily.

The Pilot Flying J network provides drivers with access to more than 65,000 parking spaces for trucks, 4,400 showers and more than 4,500 diesel lanes offering DEF.
