Pipeline Oil Sales Selling Buddy's Mini-Marts

Owner exiting retail

JACKSON, Mich. -- Pipeline Oil Sales Inc., headquartered in Jackson Mich., is selling all of its Buddy's Mini-Marts gas stations and convenience stores, according to a report by The Toledo Blade.

The company owned 38 c-stores at one point, but it has been unable to cover expenses and will focus on the distribution of gasoline, the report said.

"We're getting out of the retail operation," James F. Ahearn, owner of Pipeline Oil Sales, told the newspaper. The company now operates one store, the report added.

Outlets in Ann Arbor, Lansing and Lambertville, Mich., closed recently, [image-nocss] said the Blade. Some of the c-stores that were sold will retain the Buddy's name under different owners, and others will have other uses, Ahearn told the paper.

The stations offer Amoco, BP and Marathon-branded gasolines. One c-store location offers Burger King for foodservice.
