Quality Candy Appoints National Sales Director

Atwell joins confectionery company

HENDERSON, Nevada -- Ken Margulis, vice president of sales and marketing, and Pierre Redmond, founder and president of Quality Candy Co. Inc., makers of King Leo and Gilliam retail candy brands, as well as Quality Candy brand foodservice products, have appointed a new national sales director.

William Atwell Jr. joins the company with 33 years of experience in retail management and national retail sales. Atwell spent several years with Price Club and Costco and other large retailers in positions from store manager to regional manager and general management. [image-nocss] He subsequently became a national sales director and vice president with H & L Products, led by Ken Margulis, where they succeeded in achieving rapid growth and profitability in the retail market.

Quality Candy Co., Inc., founded in 1986 by Pierre Redmond, manufactures hard and soft sugar-based candies as well as chocolate specialties. The products are marketed to the retail trade under the 1901 King Leo brand, acquired in 1999, and the 1927 Gilliam brand, acquired in 2001. The two brands combine to make Quality Candy a major supplier of stick candy.
