CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- In March, Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes awarded prizes to recognize several excelling employees.
The Tully, N.Y., Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppe won the top honors of Store of the Year. This store is a corporate location and is managed by Rachel Henry and Jason Dewey. Earlier this year, Rachel Henry was awarded $25,000 as the winner of the Manager's Contest.
The Manager of the Year award was presented to Hans Scherer of the Pottersville, N.Y., Nice N Easy. The store is owned and operated by Riverside Gas & Oil [image-nocss] in Chestertown, N.Y. According to Devin Spencer, executive vice president and COO of Riverside Gas & Oil, Hans has been with us for four years and he has always been an exceptional employee. Hans truly takes pride in the store and operates it just like he owns it. He is a true asset.
Greg Guarnsey was honored as the Food Service Manager of the Year. He has been with Nice N Easy for almost two years and is currently working at its Vernon, N.Y., location. Ryan Leffingwell of Boonville, N.Y., was recognized as Food Service Coordinator of the Year.
Courtney Wallace of the Rome, N.Y. (Turin Road) Nice N Easy was recognized as Assistant Manager of the Year.
Theresa Tee Chavious, manager in the corporate Nice N Easy in Taunton, N.Y., was honored with the Sharon Jordan Memorial True Spirit Award. This award is given by John MacDougall, president and CEO of Nice N Easy. Each year, he selects one employee who emulates the true spirit shown by former employee Sharon Jordan. She was an exceptional who passed away following a short illness. This award is one of the most prestigious that an employee can receive, the company said. Chavious' leadership abilities, enthusiasm and true commitment to Nice N Easy are just a few of the reasons that she was honored.
Nice N Easy Management also awarded four getaway trips to the Caribbean to those managers that achieved their sales and profitability goals.
Canastota, N.Y.-based Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes currently operates more than 80 stores in the Upstate New York market.
