Reid Petroleum bought the K&K stores in 2002 from Brockport, N.Y.-based ATN Marts. Currently, Reid operates 30 stores, half under the K&K name and half as Crosby's.
The rebranding comes as Reid undergoes growth in Upstate New York [image-nocss] and northwestern Pennsylvania, with three new stores opening in the past few months.
The Crosby's c-store in Ransomville, N.Y., which opened in January, features many amenities, including free Wi-Fi access, fresh produce and an eat-in and take-out area serving pizza, sub sandwiches and salads. The store serves pizza, made-to-order sandwiches, salads, signature calzones and jumbo chicken wings. Customers who are in a hurry can pick up premade subs, sandwiches and salads, all made fresh daily in the store's Corner Cafe on the Go section. A Dunkin' Donuts franchise also operates out of the Ransomville Crosby's.
The store also offers the Corner Cafe Connect, a seating area where patrons can use free Wi-Fi. The cafe can accommodate laptops, smartphones and personal digital assistants. "We've introduced Wi-Fi technology to many of our new locations as an added convenience for our customers," Galli told the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal in January, as previously reported in CSP Daily News. "Now customers can access the Internet for free, grab a quick bite to eat, pick up groceries and fill up their gas tank, all in one place."
Crosby's shelves are stocked with a variety of fresh produce, as well as a large selection of dairy products, frozen food and beverages, all at affordable prices without sacrificing quality. Also available are tobacco products, an ATM, prepaid wireless phone cards, gift cards, E-ZPass applications, New York State Lottery games and postage stamps.
In December, Reid Stores opened new Crosby's locations in Dunkirk and Bradford, Pa.
