Road Ranger Joins AMBEST

Also opens 12th Subway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- AMBEST Inc., a member-owned truckstop organization, has added 15 Road Ranger locations to its member network, according to a report by TruckingInfo.com.

Ranger Enterprises Inc. owns 50 convenience stores and travel plazas throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri and Iowa. Joining AMBEST allows Road Ranger to become part of a national network of 109 truckstops and travel centers located throughout 36 states, said the report.

In addition to the support of a national sales force, Road Ranger will benefit [image-nocss] from purchasing programs and national marketing, including Ambucks, the company's driver loyalty program.

Over the past 17 months, AMBEST has gone through some tremendous changes, said Steve Allen, president of Nashville, Tenn.-based AMBEST. We have spent a lot of time re-evaluating the complexion of our membership. Securing a relationship with a quality company like Road Ranger further fuels the strategic direction of our organization.

Anna Marie Ciciora, CEO for Ranger Enterprises, added, The culture of AMBEST very much parallels that of Road Ranger. As far as convenience stores go, Road Ranger is committed to being a local partner with the lowest total price for our customers on a regional level. AMBEST does that very well on a national forum.

AMBEST has plans to launch several of the current Road Ranger programs nationwide, the report said.

The first of the Road Ranger stores to begin carrying the AMBEST name will launch in early January. At that point, the locations will begin issuing and redeeming Ambucks points. Ambucks is a reward program offered to AMBEST customers free of charge. Drivers can earn points by having their Ambucks card swiped when making a diesel purchase at any of the AMBEST locations nationwide. Points can be redeemed for merchandise in any AMBEST location.

Meanwhile, Rockford, Ill.-based Ranger Enterprises has celebrated the opening of a Subway sandwich shop N in Cottage Grove, Wis., located inside the Road Ranger Travel Plaza. This will be Road Ranger's 12th Subway, with others located in South Beloit, Loves Park, Rockford, Cherry Valley and Rochelle, Ill.; Lake Station, Greenwood and Brazil, Ind.; and St. Robert, Mo.

Ranger plans to open several more Subway sandwich shops

throughout the coming year, including shops at their already existing stores in Springfield and Hampshire, Ill.
