Rutter’s increased starting wages for all store employees to $10, up from Pennsylvania’s minimum wage of $7.25, on Nov. 30, 2015.

Keystone State-based convenience-store retailers Sheetz Inc. and Wawa Inc.raised their starting wages to $10 last week.

Rutter’s will hold a grand opening for the Leola location on Jan. 29.

The 7,480-square-foot location will offer three high-speed truck diesel fueling spaces and 16 pumps for gas and auto diesel for cars and trucks.

It will also offer eight spaces dedicated for horse and buggy parking. This will be the second store to offer this feature to Amish customers.

Inside, the store features a 35-person seating area along with free Wi-Fi for all Rutter’s customers. The coolers will showcase premium Rutter’s milk from locally sourced dairies and more than 10 Rutter’s tea options. In the foodservice area, Rutter’s full menu is available day and night. The menu includes options such as pastrami, BBQ short rib and fresh food options such as fruit, salads and wraps. The store will also offer a gourmet coffee bar featuring espressos, lattes, fruit smoothies and more.

Like many other Rutter’s locations, the Leola store will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

“Looking into the New Year, Rutter’s wants to continue to expand our business to additional communities. Developing Rutter’s brand in new areas allows for even more customers to experience our brand offerings and creates strong economic growth. We are excited to meet the needs of consumers in Lancaster County, and understanding what each customer wants is a standard we strive to uphold.” said Derek Gaskins, chief customer officer.

York, Pa.-based Rutter’s has 62 convenience stores, all in Pennsylvania.
