Stewart's Shops Names New Marketing Manager

Retailer also promotes Norton to vice president

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Maria D'Amelia has joined Stewart's Shops Inc. as the convenience and dairy retailer's new marketing manager, replacing Tom Mailey, who left in March to become spokesperson for the state of New York's Department of Corrections & Community Supervision.

In a tweet, Stewart's Shops president Gary Dake said, "Welcome Maria D'Amelia! She's the new PR person for Stewarts. She joins us from Fox 23."

In other company  news, Stewart's Shops recently named James Norton as vice president of Stewart's Shops Corp. and Stewart's Processing Corp., according to a report by The North Country Gazette.

Norton has been with the company for 11 years and has been managing the plant accounting operations since 2002. He currently oversees all manufacturing and distribution functions for the company.

"Jim has been a major asset, working with the Stewart's shop partners and district managers to help build the company. We are pleased to recognize his accomplishments," Dake told the newspaper.

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based Stewart's Shops is an employee- and family-owned dairy c-store chain. It is known for milk, ice cream, coffee, food to go, gasoline and more. There are approximately 330 Stewart's Shops located in more than 30 counties across upstate New York and southern Vermont.
