UPDATE: The Huddle House opened on May 22, 2013, featuring a refreshing new interior and exterior design. It features full-service dining and a menu of classic breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites, including premium breakfast platters, waffles, burgers, country fried steak, chicken sandwiches and more. The diner was built with Huddle House's new design elements, including a signature tower entrance, plush seating and contemporary colors. New menu items include Stuffed Hash Browns and Scrambles. The Mount Vernon restaurant has already created 50 to 60 new jobs. Based in Atlanta, Huddle House Inc.--with more than 400 units in 21 states, primarily in the southeastern, Central, Midwestern and southwestern United States--said it expects to add 135 new restaurants over the next four years by offering franchise opportunities in communities around the Southeast region and Texas with a refreshed restaurant design and optimized menu.

TEMPLE, Texas --  CEFCO Convenience Stores opened its newest location in Mt. Vernon, Texas, on Interstate 30, on April 12.

It is the company's first travel center prototype location co-branded with a Huddle House restaurant, reflecting CEFCO organization's latest design for the next generation. It incorporates a number of innovative enhancements made possible by an open, fresh design with modern treatments and upgraded finishes, the company said.

"We are very excited for our local and travel centric customers to stop by and visit this state-of-the-art travel center. We offer showers, travel lounge, great food and over-the-road merchandise. Additionally, for our truck customers, we offer DEF [diesel exhaust fluid] and payment methods at the dispenser," said Brett Giesick, CEFCO chief retail officer. "We believe that the enhancements built into this site reflect our core values of providing the best customer experience for every customer, every day."

This new store is part of CEFCO's stated growth strategy of adding up to 10 organic locations per year in addition to the 128 Food Fast and Taylor stores acquired since August of 2011.

Temple, Texas-based CEFCO now operates 250 convenience stores within the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.
