Kum & Go Opens Three New Stores

Expands in Ark., Okla.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go L.C., one of the nation's leading convenience store chains, opened three new stores this past week, one each in Lowell and Bentonville, Ark., and Pawnee, Okla.

Each of the two Arkansas stores is 3,400 square feet and took less than 100 days to construct.

"Kum & Go is excited for our continued growth in Northwest Arkansas," said Kyle Krause, Kum & Go president and CEO. "We now have nine stores in the Northwest Arkansas area and a total of 24 in the state. We appreciate the support of Arkansas and will continue to provide [image-nocss] the service and products that our customers want and expect."

The 4,000-square-foot Oklahoma store is attached to a McDonald's restaurant located on the Cimarron Turnpike near Lone Chimney, Okla.

"We are thrilled to offer a convenient interstate Kum & Go location for travelers on the Cimarron Turnpike," said Krause. "We are eager to offer turnpike travelers, businesses and patrons within the community a new destination for all their convenience store needs."

All three stores feature 20 conventional fueling stations, offering unleaded, unleaded plus, premium, E85 and diesel fuels. The Oklahoma site also has eight semi fueling stations to service trucks travelling the turnpike.

The sites feature a wide selection of food and beverage products, including Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Go Fresh Market Sandwiches, Nuclear energy drinks and Nutri2o nutraceutical waters. The Iowa-based company also offers potato chips, bottled water, cookies and candy under the well-known Hiland brand name in its stores.

The Arkansas locations are each running four-week grand-opening events begun this past Friday, March 13. During these events, customers can enjoy discounted pricing on various products, including fountain drinks, Hiland chips, hot dogs, Tornados, breakfast sandwiches and 2-liter sodas. An additional grand-opening weekend will be held at each location on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, when customers can take advantage of free 32-ounce fountain drinks and 50-cent hot dogs, as well as register to win prizes.

As part of Kum & Go's commitment to developing environmentally friendly building and operating practices, the new Oklahoma store integrates heavily insulated glass, LED cooler-door lights and energy-efficient coolers into its energy-efficient design.

This is the first Kum & Go location in the Pawnee/Lone Chimney area and the 56th store in the state of Oklahoma, including new locations in Owasso and Stillwater, which opened last year.

Kum & Go prides itself on providing patrons with the ideal customer experience. In 2007, the company was voted No. 1 in customer service out of seven major convenience-store chains and earned the national Excellence in Customer Service Outlook Award from CSP Magazine. Customers can expect friendly and helpful associates, a well-kept store and reasonable prices.

"We want Kum & Go to become Northwest Arkansas' store of choice for coffee or pop in the morning, gas after work and all the stops in between," Krause said.

Founded on exceptional customer service, Kum & Go, West Des Moines, Iowa, is a family-owned company with more than 430 convenience stores in 12 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming and Wisconsin).
