Abierto's Mobile Coupon Center Receives VeriFone Certification

Abierto, Systech announce SysLINK Modular Communications Gateway

ELIOT, Maine -- Abierto Networks has announced that its Mobile Coupon Center has been certified by San Jose, Calif.-based VeriFone for use with its Ruby Sapphire point-of-sale (POS) solution in the c-store industry.

"Achieving VeriFone certification for Mobile Coupon Center is a significant milestone for Abierto" said Rick Sales, president of Abierto. "A key component of our new Digital Marketing Platform, Mobile Coupon Center allows retailers to create, manage, target, distribute, redeem and measure Mobile Coupon offers, promotions and contests."

A cloud-hosted solution, Mobile Coupon Center delivers its powerful functionality via a secure, browser-based user interface that allows retailers to plan and track promotional activities. VeriFone Sapphire retailers can deploy Abierto's LCU device to connect their POS to Abierto's Mobile Coupon Redemption Host and electronically redeem their mobile coupon offers, controlling promotional costs, reducing fraud and providing real-time measurement and tracking of mobile coupon promotions. In addition to providing coupon redemption control, Abierto's Mobile Coupon Redemption Host collects valuable consumer, site and tender data that can be used for targeting future promotional offers.

Sales added "While many companies can distribute coupons to mobile devices, most convenience store retailers want to limit their financial exposure by controlling the redemption rules associated with the promotions offered via mobile coupons. Of equal importance is the retailers' desire to collect buying behavior information that can be used to target consumers with future promotional offers. Abierto's Mobile Coupon Center delivers this functionality in a cost effective and easy to use offering, that is now VeriFone certified."

In other company news, Abierto and Systech Corp. have introduced the SysLINK Modular Communications Gateway. SysLINK is a new family of products that integrate multiple communications platforms to meet the Internet connectivity, site controls and security needs of convenience store retail sites.

In addition to its IP Converter functionality, SysLINK incorporates a router, firewall and modem (wired or cellular), as well as Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-Wave and LE Bluetooth interfaces supported via field upgradable modules. Typical applications include point-of-sale (POS), ATMs, IP phones, lighting control, HVAC, security, surveillance, building automation, energy management and mobile health. The gateway is PA-DSS certified for PCI security compliant financial applications.

Rick Sales, President of Abierto, said, "SysLINK represents the next generation of communication gateway technology, allowing the retailer to pick and choose the type and number of interfaces required to support all applications at a given site. With available cellular connectivity, segmented LAN ports and Wi-Fi (including multiple SSID), SysLINK is the only device a retailer needs for increased functionality and streamlined network design."

Similar to a traditional desktop computer, SysLINK products provide interface slots that may be populated to extend the features and functionality of the gateway. Among the many interfaces supported with field upgradable modules are option cards that support Wi-Fi, 2G/3G/4G LTE cellular, ZigBee, Z-Wave, LE Bluetooth, digital ports, serial ports, a modem and analog dialup ports. Option cards may be pre-configured at the factory, or may be added in the field.

"We are very excited about the role that SysLINK will play in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) retail operations," said Jon Goby, vice president of sales at San Diego-based Systech. "SysLINK was developed with significant feedback from customers and partners and simplifies network hardware deployments at retail sites, while taking advantage of newtechnologies such as 4G LTE and ZigBee."

Eliot, Maine-based Abierto Networks is a value-added solutions provider and integrator of digital technologies, specializing in high speed payment and digital marketing solutions for the c-store and retail petroleum industry.
