AIMS Again Achieves MS Gold Partner Status

Petroleum industry tech firm declares two Microsoft competencies

MONROE, La. – AIMS Inc., a Monroe, La.-based software company specializing in solutions for petroleum products marketers, has again achieved Microsoft Gold Partner status. Gold Certified Partners represent the highest level of competence and expertise with Microsoft technologies, and have the closest working relationship with Microsoft.

At this level, AIMS has access to the resources and support needed to stand out in the marketplace. Some of these resources include a technical services coordinator, access to the Partner Knowledge Base and priority listing in Microsoft directories. [image-nocss] The "technical services coordinator" is officially called a Partner Technical Consultant (PTC). Through the PTC, AIMS also has access to top engineers who are experts in the products they work with—such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, Sharepoint, Report Services, Performance Point, etc.).

One of the requirements for attaining Gold Certified Partner status was that AIMS had to declare one Microsoft Competency. AIMS declared two competencies: ISV/Software Solutions Competency and Networking Infrastructure Competency. Microsoft Competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner's capabilities with specific Microsoft technologies to end-users looking for a particular type of software package. The ISV/Software Solutions Competency recognizes the skill and focus that Microsoft partners bring to a particular software application—in this case, petroleum marketing.

Microsoft Gold Certified Partners that have obtained this competency have a successful record of developing and marketing packaged software based on Microsoft technologies, AIMS said.

Since 1975, AIMS has exclusively focused its software development to serve the highly specialized needs of distributors of petroleum products. AIMS' newest offering is COMPAS Commander, a Windows product family. AIMS said that it continues to support, enhance and market its legacy software, called COMPAS 8.0.

AIMS develops, markets and supports a variety of automated data processing products and services for the wholesale petroleum distribution industry. Products include COMPAS, The Complete Oil Marketers Perpetual Accounting System, which is a complete wholesale/retail accounting software system; AUTOSEND, a specialized UST fuel inventory management software system; and AUTOSIR, an in-house SIR system. Various subsystems for these main products allow for automating cardlock processing, payroll, customer bank account drafting, posting of rack prices from electronic downloads, faxing of critical documents directly from the computer system, and communicating with onboard computerized fuel delivery metering systems.
