The new technology will replace non-NCR terminals in both its retail and foodservice locations, and it will be maintained globally by NCR Services.

The Exchange provides quality goods and service at comparatively low prices to American armed-forces families. It operates more than 3,100 facilities worldwide, in more than 30 countries, five U.S. territories and 50 states.

The RealPOS 72XRT is one of NCR’s most widely deployed POS systems, the company said. Built with Intel processors and featuring Intel Active Management Technology, the 72XRT provides more processing power to drive new applications, remote manageability and enhanced security to deliver value for the Exchange.

“The [AAFES] needed a flexible and dependable solution to deliver its high levels of customer service worldwide,” said Stan Ratcliffe, president of NCR Government Systems LLC. “We are pleased to be working closely with them as they enhance their store experience to families on location worldwide.”

Featuring the EZ-Glide Blade System, the RealPOS 72XRT provides tool-free access to components, enabling fast and easy service and upgrades. The RealPOS 72XRT provides access to system health with advanced remote management capabilities to help reduce downtime and lower support costs.

Duluth, Ga.-based NCR is a global leader in consumer transaction technologies. With its software, hardware, and portfolio of services, NCR enables nearly 550 million transactions daily across retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telecom and technology and small business.

Earnings from Dallas-based AAFES provide dividends to support military morale, welfare and recreation programs. The Exchange is part of the U.S. Department of Defense.
