Clark Forms Alliance With EchoSat

Satellite, web EFT services available to Clark licensees, dealers

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Clark Brands LLC has selected EchoSat Communications, Lexington, Ky., as a preferred vendor for satellites and Internet processing services. Under the terms of a joint marketing agreement executed by the two companies, EchoSat's satellite services and Internet-based EFT transaction services are available and being used by Clark licensees and dealers throughout its 17 state market area.

During Clark's recently completed credit card network transition, all satellite services were transitioned to EchoSat's network. Clark also introduced [image-nocss] a new Internet processing option for licensees and dealers. Clark locations use EchoSat's Secured Payments Gateway (SPG), to transmit credit card transactions to Clark's credit card networks.

EchoSat offers our customers the ability to choose the nondial communication option that best meets their needs at very affordable pricing, said Karl Goodhouse, Naperville, Ill.-based Clark's president.

EchoSat knows the difference that fast credit/debit transactions can make for a convenience store and the services they offer to their customers, said Spencer Rutherford, EchoSat's president. EchoSat's customers enjoy credit card speeds of two to three seconds. Our goal is to not only provide fast, secure credit transactions for the site, but to be someone the store can call 24x7 in case a problem develops anywhere along the line for their credit/debit transaction process. We understand that if a site can't process a transaction, and can't process it fast, business will suffer.

Clark Brands owns the Clark family of brands. The company licenses the Clark gasoline brand and the Four Corners Coffee Brand to independent petroleum marketers and retailers in 17 states.

EchoSat is a national communication solutions company specializing in Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT). In a highly secure environment, EchoSat transports EFT, electronic reports and communications between store sites, headquarters and credit networks. It provides speed, management capability, security, remote configuration and the ability for customers to exercise independence by switching credit network processors, along with a 24x7 Help Desk. And it provides retailers, convenience, grocery, drug stores and quick-serve restaurants (QSR) with the ability to transport transactions in the two-to-three-second speed range without the necessity of upgrading to more expensive point-of-sale (POS) equipment, it said.
