Crater Joins Cardtronics

C-store industry vet has been appointed vice president of sales
HOUSTON -- Cardtronics Inc., the world's largest retail ATM owner, has announced that Lucia Romanello Crater--a sales executive with a 22-year record of success in the convenience store industry--has joined the company as its new vice president of U.S. merchant sales. Crater is responsible for developing and implementing sales initiatives to maintain and grow the company's retail client relationships across the United States.

In addition to her time-tested industry experience, Crater has served on the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Supplier Board since 1999 [image-nocss] and presently serves as vice chair for the board.

Crater comes to Cardtronics from US Nutrition, a manufacturer of nutritional bars, where she worked for nine years, including the last three as director of sales. Prior to US Nutrition, she served more than a decade as vice president of sales at GSP Marketing Technologies, helping c-store retailers implement signage and database system best practices.

"Cardtronics' merchant sales team immediately strengthens its channel expertise with the addition of Lucia Crater," said Tres Thompson, executive vice president of U.S. ATM services for Cardtronics. "Bringing to Cardtronics a proven track record of leveraging sales pipeline opportunities into new revenue drivers for a number of companies, Ms. Crater also has earned tremendous respect within the merchant marketplace. As evidenced by her leadership positions with NACS, Ms. Crater has earned the trust and cooperation of the retail and supplier communities. Those relationships clearly enhance Cardtronics' position as a value-added service provider to both the convenience store and larger merchant communities."

Crater is a founding member of Network of Executive Women (NEW), where she served on the board, as well as the executive committee from 2001 to 2008.

Cardtronics operates more than 34,000 ATMs in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico and the Caribbean, primarily with retailers such as 7-Eleven, Chevron, Costco, CVS/pharmacy, ExxonMobil, Hess, Rite Aid, Safeway, Target and Walgreens. It also assists in the operation of more than 2,900 ATMs under managed services contracts with customers such as Kroger, Travelex and Circle K. In addition to its retail ATM operations, it provides services to large and small banks, credit unions and prepaid card issuers allowing them to place their brands on more than 11,900 Cardtronics' ATMs and providing surcharge-free access through Cardtronics' Allpoint Network.
