Kiosk, web-based hiring system screens candidates

NEWTON, Mass. -- Deploy Solutions Inc. has deployed C- Store Advantage, a recruiting and talent management solution configured specifically for the convenience store industry.

The new offering responds to hiring challenges faced by c-store managers. The heart of the Deploy C-Store Advantage foundation is having all applicants use a kiosk or web solution when applying for an available position. This first step helps achieve consistency and compliance in the application process, the company said. Then, using assessments for traits such as dependability [image-nocss] and service focus, the system can automatically provide managers with the candidates most likely to perform at a high level of customer satisfaction.

Increasing competition for quality workers with the rest of the service sector and the constant threat of turnover necessitates that c-stores quickly hire the most qualified workers and hire them ahead of the competition.

Deploy's software helped Hess to increase and better manage its pool ofqualified candidates, save manager time in the hiring process, and reduce turnover, said Nedenia West, director of retail human resources for Amerada Hess Corp.
