SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- As motorists search for where to find the best price on gasoline, the creator of a new website claims his service can help calculate whether driving across town to save consumers a few cents on gasoline will ultimately cost less.
The site, www.GasEdge.com, provides consumers with the information needed to make the right decision on where to buy gasoline, while saving the most money possible, according to its creator, Mark Roth.
The concept, said Roth, was developed as he saw motorists near his home travel across the New [image-nocss] York-New Jersey border to pay a lower per-gallon price for fuel.
"There is a big difference in price between New York and New Jersey, and I noticed many New York drivers lining up at the cheaper New Jersey gas stations,” said Roth. “That got me wondering if it was really worth the trip, going out of your way to buy cheaper gas. That's when I came up with the idea for the calculator.”
GasEdge.com provides a gas calculator and information on how to save gas and increase gas mileage. The site also has a real-time feed which constantly updates the average prices per gallon by state.
GasEdge.com also links to two related fuel-efficiency websites, www.GasSavers.org and www.CleanMPG.com.Members help make our journalism possible. Become a CSP member today and unlock exclusive benefits, including unlimited access to all of our content. Sign up here.
