Family Express Selects Radiant POS

Will help with integration of car wash offering

VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Radiant Systems Inc. said that it has contracted with Family Express Corp. to deploy Radiant Point of Sale to more than 50 sites throughout Indiana.

Gus Olympidis, president and CEO of the Valparaiso, Ind.-based retailer, said, The legacy keyboard system we were using has served us well, but it was no longer able to support the kind of customer-centric marketing initiatives that we had planned for our future.

Family Express and Radiant expect to deploy Radiant Point of Sale at a rapid pace, they said, as the [image-nocss] technology will enable the retailer to deliver loyalty functionality and employee task management. Family Express is concurrently pursuing the network integration of its car washes with the objective of achieving the capability to sell a car wash at a non-car wash location, which will be electronically redeemable at another location already fitted with a Family Express car wash.

The Radiant solution will include Radiant POS software, P1550 POS terminals, S4500 site servers and Tiger Fuel Controllers. The Radiant Point of Sale will integrate to the PDI-RMS backoffice using the industry-standard PCATS-NAXML interface.

Atlanta-based Radiant Systems provides technology to the hospitality and retail industries. Its hardware and software products have been deployed in more than 60,000 sites across more than 100 countries.
