Flash Foods Completes Rollout of NCR POS Technology

RealPOS terminals running Pinnacle Palm POS software

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- NCR Corp. said that Flash Foods has rolled out NCR RealPOS 70 point-of-sale (POS) terminals and NCR RealPOS thermal printers in its 180-plus stores. As reported in CSP Daily News earlier this week, Pinnacle Corp., an NCR reseller and Platinum level member of the NCR RealPartner program, was responsible for the sale. The solution includes Pinnacle's Palm POS application.

Flash Foods managed the installation of its new POS solution, replacing personal computers that consisted of multiple components, including separate processors and monitors [image-nocss] with associated cabling. Flash Foods also services its store-automation technology.

With the integrated solution in our stores, we have reduced excessive wiring and virtually eliminated service calls related to disconnected cables, said Jamie Sweat, Waycross, Ga.-based Flash Foods store automation technical manager.

Ken Wade, director of retail automation for Flash Foods, said he is pleased with the aesthetics and small footprint of the NCR RealPOS 70. By eliminating the PC tower, this solution has allowed us to free up space under the counter, he said.

Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle supplies automation technology to the convenience store and petroleum industries, offering products that automate the tasks of store operations and supply chain management of fuel operations.

Dayton, Ohio-based NCR Corp. is a global technology company providing ATMs, retail systems, Teradata data warehouses and IT services.

Flash Foods, Waycross, Ga., has more than 180 c-stores located throughout Georgia and northern Florida.
