Gilbarco Orchestrates Retail Technology

Conducts inaugural user conference

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Orchestrate your retail technology: Get the most from your Gilbarco technology investment was the theme at Gilbarco's inaugural Retail Systems Users' Conference, July 16-19 at the Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, N.C.

The event was attended by more than 60 different organizations, including many of the company's business partners and customers who attended to learn more about the Passport product.

The company hosted multiple seminars, roundtable discussions and a trade show demonstrating its technology and that [image-nocss] of suppliers who have interfaces to Gilbarco systems, said Kirsten Paust, the Greensboro, N.C.-based company's vice president of retail systems. We had an excellent exchange of ideas and insights from our retailers and business partners. We look forward to creating a tradition with this event.

Keynote speaker Ray Allen, Infogain Retail and former director of store systems at The Home Depot, presented Consumer Technology Trends: Their Affect on Retail Technology.

Seminar subject matter included data security, loyalty programs, merchandising, foodservice business automation, reporting, backoffice systems, Wireless Access Network (WAN), Passport roadmap, POS architecture, system configuration and forecourt innovation.

Silver sponsors included Blackhawk Network, Centego Marketing (AutoGas), and FutureMedia Displays.
