Gilbarco Veeder-Root Debuts Payment Security Planning Process

Helps retailers develop customized security programs for island, store

HOT SPRINGS, Va. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root unveiled a copyrighted process at the company's Retail Systems Users' Conference in Hot Springs, Va., that it said is designed to helps retailers develop their customized payment security and compliance programs for the fuel island and in-store POS.

More than 70 participants from leading petroleum retail companies completed the Gilbarco Payment Security Plan Worksheet in the PCI (Payment Card Industry) training sessions, beginning the process to develop a customized plan for their company, Gilbarco said.

"Gilbarco's payment planning process [image-nocss] is a structured way to prioritize the actions that are needed for compliance and helps retailers understand their upgrade options," said Jason Collins, information technology (IT) manager at Englefield Oil Co., a Kent, Ohio-based retailer. "I now have a clear plan of action, a schedule, and a lot less anxiety."

"We find that customers who use this process emerge from it well-informed, confident and ready to act," said Scott McDowell, marketing manager of North American payment products for Greensboro, N.C.-based Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
