Gilbarco certifies Skyline electronic price signs for use with Passport 6

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Inc. has certified a standard, direct interface from the Passport point-of-sale (POS) system to Skyline Products Inc.'s electronic price signs.

The interface enables retailers to instantly change fuel prices on outdoor signage and at the fuel dispensers from Passport Version 6.

The automated management of price signs helps retailers improve staff efficiency and safety by simplifying instantaneous changes from [image-nocss] inside the store, said Kirsten Paust, Gilbarco Veeder-Root's vice president of global retail systems. Retailers also improve regulatory compliance with highly visible signage that presents consumers with continuously accurate prices.

Greg Stadjuhar, Skyline Products' vice president of sales and marketing, added, In today's highly volatile and low-margin fuel market, it's more important than ever for successful retailers to have certified integration of their fuel pricing, with electronic price signs, POS and backoffice fully coordinated to respond quickly in a competitive environment. Automating price sign changes saves time and money and gives stores the assurance they remain in compliance with pricing regulations.
