Just in Time' vs. 'Keep Full'

Pinnacle expands fuel solutions with Symphony.fuel rti
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. has launched Symphony.fuel rti (fuel real-time inventory), extending Pinnacle's Symphony Business Platform suite of petroleum automation solutions to include real-time fuel inventory capabilities. Pinnacle has been delivering to market the Symphony suite of automation solutions since 2005, with a fully centralized and web browser-based footprint.

Symphony.fuel rti assists petroleum marketers in contending with the battles associated with volatile petroleum prices. In today's market, marketers are forced to adopt just-in-time inventory [image-nocss] strategies. Symphony.fuel rti enables these marketers to have real-time, up to the minute tank inventory information in order to know what, how much, where and when petroleum product needs to be delivered. Built on Pinnacle's Symphony Business Platform, Symphony.fuel rti is fully browser based, accessible from any web-browser and integrates with the most common automatic tank gauge (ATG) interfaces on the market today.

Symphony.fuel rti also integrates with Pinnacle's Fuel Smart fuel management solution, enabling dispatchers to have the real-time fuel inventory information they need right at the time of dispatching fuel loads. FuelSmart enabled with Symphony.fuel rti provides petroleum marketers with the real-time information needed to achieve just-in-time inventory management.

"Symphony. fuel rti addresses two major concerns for today's serious petroleum marketer, petroleum pricing intelligence and just-in-time inventory control. A sudden increase in sales, i.e., an unexpected decrease in fuel inventory, may have less to do with marketing genius than the fact that street pricing may suddenly be out of sync with the rest of the retail market. Petroleum marketing price volatility is at the forefront of retailers' minds. Symphony. fuel rti delivers pricing and business Intelligence information faster than traditional sales and marketing reports. In 2009, fuel costs hit all-time record highs and most analysts believe that another round of $100-per-barrel oil is in our near future. The traditional method of petroleum inventory management of 'keep full' is economically unviable. Symphony.fuel rti is a true petroleum 'just-in-time' management tool," said Brian Reynolds, Pinnacle's director of fuel solutions.
