KSS Introduces KSS Analytics for Fuel Retailers, Wholesalers

With QlikView, helps fuel providers examine volume, profits, performance in real time
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- KSS Inc. has introduced KSS Analytics, a software offering that uses the QlikView business intelligence engine from QlikTech to give fuel retailers and wholesalers a dashboard-style overview of their fuel operations so they can make informed and valuable business decisions in real-time.

KSS Analytics works alongside KSS' PriceNet and RackPrice fuel price management software as well as a standalone business intelligence tool to analyze and interpret valuable data and instantly present it via a user-friendly interface. The customizable system helps users [image-nocss] view and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) like fuel volume, profit, margins and process adherence and, where appropriate, compare that information against performance benchmarks.

"Having quick and daily access to key performance indicators speeds analysis and decisions to improve results," said Bob Stein, president and CEO of KSS. "Our KSS Analytics solution, using QlikView's...business intelligence tools, delivers on that need by automating the examination and analysis of data and helping fuel retailers and wholesalers know where to focus to improve performance."

During the development of KSS Analytics, KSS partnered with Visual Data Group, a QlikView business intelligence specialty group, to develop the engine behind the software solution. John Mayer, principal of Visual Data Group (VDG), the QlikView Elite Reseller to KSS, says the partnership delivers three primary benefits to fuel providers: speed, accessibility and time-to-market.

By unveiling KSS Analytics, KSS has expanded its overall offering to include fuel price management software, analytics solutions and consulting services. Stein said this marks his company's second major product launch this year, with the introduction of the KSS Consulting Division in March.

PriceNet is KSS' pricing solution that supports key tasks and stakeholders involved in retail fuels pricing from capturing field-based intelligence at the site level, to the generation of price proposals via comprehensive pricing rules or price optimization, to consistent and timely implementation. High levels of automation and an exception-based approach ensure a rapid response to competitors and market conditions, thus allowing pricing analysts to leverage the power of pricing analytics.

RackPrice is an end-to-end wholesale pricing solution that helps wholesalers meet volume targets at the maximum possible margin by improving its pricing processes and responding more rapidly and effectively to market moves. The system includes modules for price generation automation, reporting/analysis, competitive price prediction, price-volume modeling and price optimization.

KSS' Consulting Division features fuels pricing experts and proprietary pricing intelligence tools that have helped clients in 25 countries successfully improve profits at more than 25,000 fuel sites and rack terminals. The group includes scientific and business minds that help fuel retailers and wholesalers delve to the root problems in their fuel pricing operations and then develop solutions that promote profitability.

KSS, the Fuels Pricing Experts, is the leading global provider of pricing software, analytics and consulting services to fuel retailers and wholesalers in the oil & gas, convenience store and retail industries. KSS helps fuel marketers identify and efficiently execute optimal pricing strategies. The company's U.S. headquarters are located in Florham Park, N.J., and its international headquarters are based in Manchester, U.K.
