Kwik Trip Completes Rollout of Pinnacle Software

Symphony.pos manager automates process of POS configuration
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Kwik Trip Inc. has completed the rollout of The Pinnacle Corp.'s Symphony.pos manager to the chain's 395 stores, simplifying the process of configuring Palm POS. Symphony.pos manager is an enterprise-level solution designed to remotely define and update store level point-of-sale (POS) configuration files. Kwik Trip is now able to quickly and easily create and distribute group-based configuration settings and PLU boards from the corporate office, using a user-friendly, intelligent web-based graphical user interface.

"Kwik Trip has been able to take advantage [image-nocss] of the many benefits of this Symphony Business Platform solution to streamline the process of POS board configuration and remove the complexities involved in maintaining those POS systems manually," said Melissa Fox, product manager for Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle.

The implementation of Pinnacle's Symphony.pos manager has provided La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip with a number of timesaving benefits:
The process of managing POS board configurations has been simplified by using Symphony.pos manager's intelligent, user-friendly graphical interface. Making changes to existing boards or implementing new boards takes a fraction of the time it did before, resulting in quicker changes at the register where they're needed and freeing up time for IT and marketing staffs to focus on other areas of the organization. The necessity of managing individual configuration files for each store level register has been removed by the preview feature that allows changes to be reviewed at the corporate level before distributing them to the store level. Manually logging into, or traveling to each individual store to implement POS configuration changes is virtually eliminated. Changes to each store are automatically distributed, as they are needed. Immediate and continual feedback is provided to indicate the status of each configuration and the store's compliance with each change. "POS Manager allows us to very quickly deploy keyboard changes to support our ever changing Food Service initiatives. It's also very flexible and allows for unique layouts by Store if necessary. POS Manager has dramatically reduced the time and cost of keyboard maintenance for Kwik Trip," said Bruce Snyder, IT retail systems.
