Kwik Trip Deploys Ingenico PIN Pads

Interface with Pinnacle Palm POS system

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Kwik Trip Inc. has selected the Ingenico i6550 as its next-generation PIN pad, and over the next several months will be deploying more than 1,100 of these terminals throughout its convenience store chain. Ingenico devices interface seamlessly to Kwik Trip's point-of-sale (POS) system, The Pinnacle Corp.'s Palm POS, to enable secure payment processing.

"When we started looking for a unified terminal to incorporate PIN pad, magnetic strip reader, signature capture, and contactless RFID payment, we partnered with Pinnacle to select the [image-nocss] Ingenico i6550 terminal," said Ron Sissel, manager of retail automation for Kwik Trip. "This terminal fits our requirement, and the first step of the implementation, installing the terminal with the PIN pad application, is going well. We look forward to adding additional features from Pinnacle for the Ingenico terminal in the near future."

The Ingenico i6550 PIN pad is PCI PED compliant. "Many c-store retailers are actively looking for secure payment solutions to help them meet their PCI compliance goals. Ingenico offers a variety of secure payment options that are supported by Pinnacle's Palm POS," said Denise Lewis, Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle's retail solutions manager.

Palm POS supports Ingenico's eN-Touch 1000, i6510, i6550 and i6770 payment terminals. Pinnacle is enhancing its Palm POS interface to this latest series of Ingenico terminals to include support for additional features of these devices, including signature capture and RFID contactless payment.

Palm POS runs under the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. It is hardware independent and interfaces to a variety of scanners, printers, pole displays, security cameras, lottery, money order, kitchen video systems and more. Nationwide, it is used to process upwards of $9 billion in total convenience store sales and is certified on 10 different credit payment networks.

La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip has 368 Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Hearty Platter and Tobacco Outlet Plus stores throughout the Midwest. Kwik Trip has been a Pinnacle client since 1997 and uses Pinnacle's Symphony.pos manager, Palm POS and Journal Manager.
