Mach 1 Races Ahead on Social, Mobile Marketing

Forges agreement with OpenStore by GasBuddy

TEUTOPOLIS, Ill. -- Meyer Oil Co. and Mach 1, it's chain of 15 convenience stores in Illinois, has recently entered the social and mobile marketing "roadways" with OpenStore by GasBuddy.

The launch of the new branded store websites showcases in-store deals, SMS contests, social media presence on Facebook and Twitter, gasoline prices, directions to stores, customer feedback, job postings and more. The free mobile apps also promote deals and perishable coupons to Mach 1 customers.

Mobile apps are convenient, handy and Mach 1 customers will appreciate the exclusive deals sent directly to their smartphone, the company said.

"Mach 1 continues to build strong relationships with customers while connecting with them via social media and mobile technology," said Alan Meyer, fuel manager for Meyer Oil. "The opportunities are endless for Mach 1. We are excited to be moving ahead with such cutting edge tools."

Jason Toews, CEO and Co-founder of OpenStore by GasBuddy, said, "Introducing the mobile applications to Mach 1's marketing strategy is huge. Mach 1 is a perfect example of a smaller c-store chain being able to tap into the same possibilities larger c-store chains have with respect to leveraging a brand with innovative and digital tools.

He added, "OpenStore is a complete turnkey social technology solution that will provide Mach 1 the ability to reach their customers easily and effectively while building loyalty."

Meyer Oil is a family-owned business based in Teutopolis, Ill. It owns or operates all the Mach 1 Food Shops and Mach 1 Car Washes in central and southern Illinois and Indiana. Meyer Oil is a branded fuel supplier for BP, Marathon and ConocoPhillips, and all Mach 1 Food Shops sell gasoline of one of these oil companies. Meyer Oil also distributes branded gasoline to several independent dealers in its trade area.
