Wincor Nixdorf introduces BEETLE /iPRO

AUSTIN, Texas -- Wincor Nixdorf, a suppliers of IT solutions for the banking and retail industries, has announced the availability of the BEETLE /iPRO, a high-performance point-of-sale (POS) system featuring Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron desktop processors.

The BEETLE /iPRO supports open standards, allows flexible configurations and delivers faster processing speeds, supporting new levels of customer interaction at the point of sale, said the company. The BEETLE /iPRO is designed to fit most integrated, standard cash wraps, making it ideal for next-generation [image-nocss] POS upgrades and replacements. An optional integration unit allows all peripherals to be housed in an all-in-one form factor that optimizes counter space.

The new system provides a very low total cost of ownership, thanks to the BEETLE One architecture, a common platform based on Intel-embedded chipsets and motherboard technologies.

This platform allows retailers to mix and match the BEETLE /iPRO along with other BEETLEs in the store, while keeping the same requirements for software deployment and hardware maintenance. It also allows retailers to lock in a consistent configuration during POS rollouts, even for multi-year implementations.

All BEETLE models offer a spare parts guaranteeseven years beyond end-of-lifegiving retailers the assurance of a stable and adaptable platform for the next generation of POS applications.
