MPSI Adds Custom Alerts to Online Fuels Pricing App

Users can be alerted about incoming, outgoing pricing data via emails, texts
TULSA, Okla. -- MPSI, a leading provider of fuels pricing and site evaluation solutions, has released a new "alerts" option for its online PriceIt! Pro fuels pricing system. Alerts can now be established for any and all incoming data as well as outgoing data.

MPSI Price Consultants will work with PriceIt! Pro users opting for this enhancement to develop a customized alert notification system for their organization that fits their internal procedures. These can be set up to notify users of such things as missing, incomplete or extraordinary data circumstances. Each alert [image-nocss] can be escalated to various levels within an organization to ensure that different levels of management are informed only when necessary.

The alert customization process begins with identification of the incoming (e.g., competitor prices) and/or outgoing data (e.g., approved prices) requiring alerts. Then for each data item identified, MPSI will work with its customers to define the criteria for sending the alert, the content of the alert, the start time and how often to check the data after the start time. The alerts can be sent in an email or text message. If desired, alerts can be escalated to multiple positions within an organization if the data need is not met within a certain timeframe.Alerts can assist pricing departments to ensure the most up-to-date data is in place before pricing decisions are made each day. They can also notify managers about important price moves, such as recoveries, before they are implemented.

"With alerts, the concern over missing and incomplete data is less of an issue," said Don Spears, managing director of global pricing for MPSI. "Before alerts, managers had to leave time in their schedule to contact the responsible individuals when their competitive price surveys weren't timely. Alerts have automated that process, allowing pricing managers to spend less time collecting data and more time making important price decisions."

The online PriceIt! Pro system is designed to help users set the best motor fuel prices for each outlet in their network. It combines daily fuel volumes, users' costs and prices, key competitor prices, consumer price sensitivities and an optimization routine to establish a price position that achieves optimum profit and volume, the Tulsa, Okla.-based company said.

MPSI is a leading provider of fuels pricing and site evaluation solutions. Since 1970, its products and services have helped customers with fuels price management, price optimization, volume projections, retail asset management and retail outlet data. MPSI is also a principal provider of traffic data, demographics and online mapping.
