NCR POS Approved for Conoco, Phillips 66, 76

Offering credit, debit, fleet card transaction processing for brands

DULUTH, Ga. -- NCR Corp. is now approved for processing credit, debit and fleet card transactions at Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded petroleum/convenience stores throughout the United States. This approval means owners of the Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded stores can now buy NCR's Radiant point-of-sale (POS) solution for petroleum and c-stores.

Since NCR's previous approval for Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded locations in 2005, NCR has continued to develop and improve its systems to meet industry needs.

The NCR Radiant POS solution offers scalability, efficiency, reliability and affordability, meeting the needs of petroleum convenience store owners and their customers. This includes 25 years of leadership in the development of mobile applications, fast foodservice, fuel control, payment solutions and more.

"Petroleum convenience store owners need reliable systems that affordably meet their unique point-of-sale needs, and customers want to interact with these stores as quickly and easily as possible," said Jason Groff, director of petroleum convenience retail with NCR. "With our new approval for Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded locations, these store owners now have available new and powerful solutions from NCR that incorporate our company's embrace of the latest in technology. When these owners get ready to upgrade their POS equipment--those owners who currently use our solutions and those who we would like to serve going forward--NCR stands ready to meet their needs."

He added, "This approval is just one of many investments that reaffirm NCR's dedication to innovation in the petroleum and convenience store market. We're thrilled to achieve this approval and look forward to continued success in this space."

Currently, three of the six major oil companies in the United States are NCR customers, 12 of the top 30 c-store chains in the country are NCR customers and more than 25 billion gallons of fuel are sold annually through NCR POS systems.

The proprietary credit networks of petroleum marketers like Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded locations are not open to all POS vendors and require unique efforts for those vendors to gain approval. Not all POS vendors are invited to seek approval on these networks and not all vendors that begin the process are able to achieve approval. Approval is required of POS vendors before they can sell POS systems to the owners of petroleum and convenience stores that sell fuel from petroleum marketers. Although approved for the previous Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 network, NCR's POS systems needed to be approved on these stores' current network.

Duluth, Ga.-based NCR is a global technology company; its assisted- and self-service solutions and comprehensive support services address the needs of retail, financial, travel, hospitality, entertainment, gaming, public sector, telecom carrier and equipment organizations in more than 100 countries.
