Nobles Fuel Selects DTN FastRacks

Market intelligence provider also rolls out new tools, services

OMAHA -- Market information services provider DTN said Nobles Truck Stop Inc., aka Nobles Fuel, has implemented DTN FastRacks, a daily rack price discovery report that includes all intraday price moves listed by supplier.

In a thin-margin industry, having superior market intelligence is the key to maintaining a competitive edge and a better bottom line, DTN said. DTN FastRacks gathers rack prices electronically and subjects the results to a battery of control checks and reviews throughout the day to ensure the highest level of accuracy in the industry.[image-nocss]

"Receiving a report after the market closes each day is an easy way for us to know first-hand what we can expect to pay for fuel the next day," said Randy Milner, operations manager for Nobles Fuel, Corinth, Ky. "We found that DTN can provide us with the timeliest information we need, in a cost-effective way."

DTN FastRacks offers users a variety of reports to help customers assess competitive market positions throughout the day, including complete morning reports, real-time price alerts and complete reports after the futures markets have closed. Because there is no delay caused by human interaction, DTN can start sending complete DTN FastRacks daily price discovery reports as early as 5:15 a.m. Central Time, it said.

Real-time price alerts give DTN FastRacks users immediate notice when a rack price has changed. Each alert is a detailed analysis of rack prices that have made intraday changes, giving a complete picture of the changing marketincluding a new rack low and rack average. Also, DTN data experts can work with customers to produce customized data information, such as combining markets to create unique locations, and customizing delivery information formats and times.

Separately, Omaha-based DTN has introduced DTN Quotes Online. This analytical tool delivers real-time NYMEX and IPE futures, spot prices, as well as expert analysis of market-shaping news and business-grade weather information customized to the needs of the downstream energy market.
