Pantry Upgrades Zytax Solution

Retailer selects enterprise solution for tax compliance
SANFORD, N.C. Major regional convenience retailer The Pantry, an existing client of Zytax, has enhanced its existing compliance solution, upgrading from Express to Enterprise to accommodate its growth.

"Our success with Express was apparent, and upon realizing the benefits, we decided to expand," said Kathy Poirier, tax director of The Pantry. "Zytax has played a significant role in facilitating our growth, and with the added capabilities the new software provides, we look forward to continuing this trend."

Zytax Enterprise will allow The Pantry to add all 12 jurisdictions [image-nocss] in which it operates, minimize complexities, enable multiple users on the system simultaneously and to process more transactions. Additionally, The Pantry will define its own decision rules to address unique requirements related to its business model.

Houston-based Zytax, a FuelQuest company, supplies strategic software automation solutions for global indirect tax determination and excise motor fuels compliance for the energy industry. It has served the energy industry for more than 14 years, providing excise and specialty tax solutions for companies across the retail, transportation, government, refining and marketing industries.

Headquartered in Sanford, N.C., The Pantry is the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States and one of the largest independently operated convenience store chains in the country. As of April 10, 2009, the company operated 1,648 stores in 11 states under select banners, including Kangaroo Express, its primary operating banner.
